"Looking to the Edge of Nowhere"
This is an oil painting I did in early November. We've been having a mild fall, pretty dry, so I didn't have to wear mud boots in my field! The painting is 6"x 8". Before I did this one I completed the small oil sketch of an oak tree (4" x 6").
I have worked as a full time zookeeper, raised countless animals, am a member of the Buffalo Ornithological Soc., NYS Bluebird Soc., the Buffalo Society of Artists. I love to be hiking with a sketchbook learning about nature! I have a BA in Art from Buffalo State, teaching experience grades k-12 and adults, I've studied at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, Canada and have illustrated for Nature Centers, books and a cd album cover. I love teaching nature sketching, introducing my love of exploration of nature to others. Let me know if you want to take any of my classes!
I also have fine prints, note cards and original paintings of all my work for sale! Contact me to inquire.
September 2008- at the Kielder Bird of Prey Centre in Northumberland England. I'm holding a Spectacled Owl chick here, isn't he cool looking? To read more about my adventure in England click on the picture and read more!
